Davut Guloglu
|
Davut Guloglu was born in 1972. He was the seventh child of an official father and a housewife mother. His parents died when he was very young. After that for six years he had been interested in football and played in such amateur football teams as Rize Belediye Spor and Salaha Spor.
In spite of this long period of playing football he had ever been too deeply connected with music. Therefore in 1991 Davut went to Istanbul. There he attended the training courses of the prominent artist Arif Sag. Gradually he increased his musical knowledge and continued his studding with private courses.
Using his musical knowledge combined with natural talent and life experience Davut started his career. By mixing the rhythms of Karadeniz Region and modern music he created his own, new style.
Davut’s first album is `Nurkanim` (My Nurkan). He believed that art needs education and training. Thus to create Nurkanim he made researches, studies, and works. This album stayed on the top of the list of the best-selling albums for a long time. The video clips made for `Nurkanim` first and then for `Benim Buyuk Allah’im` (My GreatGod) increased the sales even more.
It was as early as the first time Davut Guloglu appeared on the Turkish music scene when he was loved by the public. From then on his listeners and fans constantly increase their number.
His main goal is not only to become more and more successful but also to popularize Karadeniz Music in Europe and make people love it. And yet the most important for him is to preserve his own principles and characteristics no matter how successful he is.
